Mission & Vision

Mission

The EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) is a membership organization of mental health professionals dedicated to the highest standards of excellence and integrity in EMDR.

Purpose

a) to establish and uphold standards of practice, training, certification, and research,

b) to provide information, education, and advocacy, and

c) to assist practitioners in fulfilling their responsibilities to the public.

Values

Introduction

Core Values represent the guiding principles for how we wish to conduct ourselves as professional members of EMDRIA. The EMDRIA Board and its members endeavor to conduct themselves in the service of EMDRIA with these Core Values in mind.

Promotion of EMDR

We advocate for EMDR’s broader inclusion in the mental health field.

Integrity, Professionalism, Ethics

We value integrity and competence in the practice of EMDR. We commit ourselves to serve others with the highest level of ethical and professional conduct, both in our Association and in our communities.

Service

While serving as representatives of EMDRIA, we place the Mission, the Ends and the Core Values of the Association (EMDRIA) ahead of any self-interest.

Dedication to Member Concerns

We are dedicated to understanding the needs of our EMDRIA membership and to communicating how our Board’s actions serve our commitment to the Mission, Ends and Core Values of our Association.
